Real quick, can anybody please tell me how much money Vincent Lecavalier will be making this year wearing a Philadelphia Flyers uniform? $4,500,000? And he’ll be making that same amount next year and the year after that and the year after that? Oh, good great grand wonderful. Now I’ll be honest, a major part of me is thrilled that Vinny is getting the press box tonight. He’s been god awful all year long and makes me want to vomit night in and night out. But when you have a guy who is getting paid close to 5 million dollars to not even dress, you have a serious issue. Hopefully there’s something bigger in the works here like a deal that will be able to ship him out of town, but if this is just a healthy scratch for the sake of being a healthy scratch, then I need to find a brick wall to slam my head into right now.
And as for Del Zotto, this is where I have a huge problem with Berube. And not just because I love Del Zotto and have for some reason chosen him to be my guy this year. But because MDZ has more than arguably been the Flyers best defenseman all season long so far. He’s the best option we have on the blueline during 5on5 situations and has been crushing ice time. Sitting him tonight makes a grand total of zero sense and I honestly think that Chief Berube has just lost his mind at this point. If he thinks this is going to “jolt” the team will then he’s a complete bozo. The only thing its doing is showing everyone he’s in free fall mode right now and can’t find the off switch. Can’t wait for the game tonight. Go Flyers.
