During last night’s 4-3 loss to the Avalanche, Michael Del Zotto ended up taking the skate of Danny Briere to the throat. It was MDZ’s first shift back in the lineup after sitting the previous 9 games as a healthy scratch. Can’t necessarily say our boy had the greatest December in the world. Luckily for him though, chicks dig scares, pain heals and glory lasts forever. I mean that’s a pretty gross looking scar so maybe that doesn’t completely apply to him in this specific situation, but at least his head is still attached to his body. And thank whoever or whatever you believe in that his glorious head of hair was spared in this incident. That could have been devastating. If MDZ ended up getting full-blown Malarchuk’d I think I’d actually die. So I’m counting my blessing right now.
