Back In Black: Pray For The Penguins, The Flyers Just Unveiled Their Stadium Series Sweaters
Did the hottest team currently in the NHL just drop the hottest Stadium Series sweater on the market? You bet your sweet ass they did.
Everybody has been begging the Flyers for another black uniform since 2011 when they made the switch back to just Orange and White. Now to the untrained eye, this may look like some sort of knockoff Flyers jersey you could find at the likes of Target and/or Kohl’s. But this shit is gonna pop outdoors on Heinz Field come February 25th. (They’ll also be wearing them at home March 15 against the Penguins again). And when you put this jersey up against their 50th anniversary sweater, it’s as lop-sided of a fight as Emery vs Holtby.
Black is the color of rebels. Yellow is the color of piss. You tell me who comes out of this jersey match up 2 months from now.

Also–pretty cool that they let Wayne Simmonds, the black guy, model for the unveiling of the black uniform. Just a nice little touch there from the Flyers. Sorry that we’re super duper progressive like that. The Penguins don’t have one single black guy on their roster. Are they a team full of racists? I can’t say no.
