Tyson Fury Pulls A Conor McGregor, Says This Morning's Retirement Tweet Was A Hoax

My blog about this morning’s “retirement announcement” for reference

The Gypsy King strikes again! Listen guys, this one is on me. I got so caught up in the beauty and pageantry of Tyson Fury’s announcement, that I forgot the number 1 rule of journalism. Never trust a guy that has a picture of himself as Tony Montana in his Twitter avatar. Literally the first thing the journalism professor tells you once they finish reading the syllabus. Don’t get me wrong, I’m thrilled the star of Tyson Fury is still shining brightly in the sports universe.

In fact, I bet the fake retirement tweet is probably the first thing they teach in boxing school these days. Now Fury’s name is being mentioned in the same sentence as Conor McGregor. Good luck getting that kind of bump in stature by simply boxing. Fury beat one of the Klitschko man mountains for the heavyweight championship and was barely recognized anywhere on the planet. A+ P.R. work out of him, even if I guess they teach the spelling of “media” in boxing grad school (unless this is a European version of “media”. And if that’s the case, fuck European spellings and the Metric system. Especially a day after the U.S. won the Ryder Cup).

Also you have to love the “top attorney at law” breaking down the corruption in boxing while driving what appears to be a Toyota and wearing an outfit that can only be described as bloggers chic.

Regardless, we should all be happy that the Gypsy King is still doing the damn thang. Now hit his music.

And cue the animal cracker scene.

*In case you haven’t figured it out yet, these videos will probably be at the end of every Fury blog that I ever write until the end of time
