Not to sound like Beanie Sigel, but remember dem days? I’ll admit that I was pretty down before last night’s game. I guess an avalanche of injury news about your young pitchers getting followed up by your rival sweeping you before a four-game stint against the Cubs will do that to most fan bases. But last night’s win has me re-energized and this DraftKings contest has me flat-out excited. I obviously had a ball watching the Mets march all the way to the World Series last year, but I chickened out once push came to shove when it came to buying World Series tickets. I just couldn’t justify spending the money needed to go to one of those games if I was about to start living on a blogger’s salary.
Well guess what? After last night’s Mets game, I am convinced that the Mets are going back to the Series. They are the Cubs’ kryptonite. The paper to the Cubbies’ rock. Who cares about the rest of the NL, the Mets are going back to the ship! But I know I am still going to become gun shy about buying tickets to a World Series game. And I KNOW for sure that Terry Collins will not lead the National League All-Star team to victory.
