The NBA Is Finally Back In Our Lives And DraftKings Is Celebrating By Creating A Private Barstool-Only Contest With $3,000 On The Line
The NBA returns tonight, which means you are likely playing Roundball Rock on loop and watching Godzingis highlight reels. It also means that fantasy basketball season tips off again. Now listen, I have been a fantasy basketball player since I was a young’n. Not to go all gray beard on you guys, but I used to run a league where I actually did the stats using the newspaper and a calculator. That is some dedication to the craft. Fantasy Ball Was Life. But as I grew older, I kinda was done with fantasy basketball. Too many roster moves to be done because the uneven schedules for different teams. And since I now have a life have to work, I can’t keep up with the daily or weekly roster moves for a season long league. And even if I do, I lose interest after a month or so.
Which is why tonight’s Opening Night Contest is perfect. DraftKings has given us our own private Barstool tournament so we can play against our fellow Stoolies with $3,000 in prizes on the line. It is $3 to enter or free with your first deposit of at least $5. You pick a team of 8 basketball players, watch the points pile in, and collect your winnings afterwards. All done in one night. Again, it’s perfect. The contest starts at 7:30 PM EST tonight, so make sure you enter by then.
And in the spirit of transparency I will let you guys know what my entry is. You will also likely see it in first place by the end of the night (Not picking any Cavs because I can’t sell my soul on Opening Night).
