hate that this is all being stirred up just a couple days before a playoff game, but I’m glad someone is finally telling it like it is. I know theres a contingent of fans out there that probably wish DW and Terry would just say “It was a mistake but we know Matt is going to be ready to compete” blah blah blah just to minimize the drama here, but I for one am happy these guys aren’t give Harvey a free pass. Harvey’s done a lot of selfish nonsense the past few years. A lot of it was trivial and sometimes meaningless – from going to Rangers games or deciding where he wants to rehab or where his locker was located in spring training – but it was a pattern of behavior. And then this year arrived and the Boras fiasco was more of the same, however this time it was very, very meaningful and directly impacted the team. And now we get another display of lazy, bonehead selfishness despite all his quotes about how he was committed and ready and going to be there for his teammates. Its just the same thing over and over and over and a couple of guys like Wright and Collins – veterans of the game who have waited a long time to have a postseason opportunity – are clearly fed up with it.

Sucks that its happening now and over something as dumb as a team workout. When Harvey pitches a gem at Citi next week we wont be talking about this. But when Mr. Diplomacy David Wright is clearly making a point to single him out as being a bad teammate, and Mr. “Cripes” Collins is throwing around the term dumbass and dropping F bombs, you can tell these guys are completely fed up with the Matt Harvey Routine. I cant blame them one bit. If you’re gonna be a prick you gotta DOMINATE on the diamond. I always say I want the tobacco chewing, nose bleeding, fired up asshole version of Matt Harvey because then it will erase all the asshole behavior off the field. Lets hope thats the case game 3.
