Lebron Is The Captain Of Team Pizza - Ditches McDonalds To Become A Pizza Franchisee

First We Feast – Expect to see copious amounts of pizza-related Instagram photos on LeBron’s social media accounts. Despite McDonald’s recent introduction of all-day breakfast, LeBron James has decided to end his endorsement deal with McDonald’s. Instead, he has plans to support the fast-casual pizza chain, Blaze. Back in 2012, the Cleveland Cavaliers’ star forward invested in the assembly line-style pizza chain. King James now has plans to use his status as the best basketball player in the world to help promote Blaze Pizza in a new marketing strategy while simultaneously holding the franchise rights to Blaze restaurants in Miami and Chicago. Using his role as the second most followed athlete on Twitter, LeBron will begin utilizing social media to spread the word on Blaze’s “fast-fire’d” pizza. A source tells ESPN that LeBron James currently owns 10% of the stake in Blaze, not including his current franchise rights in Miami and Chicago. Rick Wetzel, founder of Blaze Pizza, explains, “LeBron came on as a founding investor and he had been silent and in the background. Now we’re using him to get our message out there and put the spotlight on our brand.”

The biggest, best pizza fan on the planet. The never has been, and never will be a guy who likes pizza more than Lebron James. This is just the only way to really show your love and dedication to pizza. Anything less than this and I dont even think you can be considered #TeamPizza. Some people like pizza. Some people love pizza. Some people will only eat pizza if someone is filming them eat pizza. Some people think that the world is constantly waiting with bated breath to hear how much they like or dislike a certain slice of pizza. Its all about them. Its all about their ego.

And then there are other people who are just in it for the love of pizza. A behind the scenes sort of pizza fan. Just in it for the love of pizza and trying to bolster the pizza industry. Probably the greatest pizza leader/teammate of all time. Especially giving up McDonalds money. He put pizza above his checkbook. Really admirable to be honest.

PS – Part of me is concerned that Portnoy goes and buys a pizza franchise because of this but I think it would actually be a better use of his money than his usual gambling/horses habit and would actually be money well spent.
