Islanders Unveil Their New Third Jersey And Boy Oh Boy Are They Bad

God dammit. God dammit. God dammit.

First 100 point year in decades, JT establishing himself within the league’s top 5 forwards, all those talented prospects finally breaking into the league, I guess you can’t get everything right.

I’m not going to try and spin this, these are flat out ugly. I spent the last few days convincing myself that leaked photo was of a commemorative practice jersey just to cope but all I did was set myself up to fall even harder. Like telling yourself that cop didn’t see you doing 97 down the LIE right before you see those lights flick on.

At the end of the day this is just a third jersey in which we will probably only see a handful of times this year. And I am sure we will all overlook how bad they are once JT’s putting up numbers in em but in a time where anything attached to Brooklyn gets bombarded by Isles fans, you would think the team would have maaaaybe done a better job trying to get fans on board with the whole black and white theme.

One of the few things I will say was done right is the Al Arbour patch on the shoulder. That one was an alley-oop for whoever was behind this, but nice to finally see in person. RIP Radar.

Today should be a fun day on the ol’ #IslesTwitter, and with the deadline for Brock to sign being tonight, tomorrow might be pitchfork city on Long Island. Let’s just all try to remember that come Friday the Islanders will be doing hockey things, on an actual rink, with actual pucks and sticks, and oh my god hockey’s back you guys!

PS – JT, look more excited, you can’t
