Barstool March Madness TV Tournament - Sweet 16 Results And Elite 8 Voting

Another outrageous round of the Barstool TV Tournament. After knocking off two of the biggest badasses in TV history – Vic Mackey and Mike Ehrmantraut – Omar Little falls to Michael Scott. The double barrel sawed off shotgun just wasnt enough to overcome Michael Scott’s brains and wit. Omar loved Michael so much he was afraid of him, I believe. Which now sets up the greatest “Boss” matchup of all time. Tony the Crime Boss, Michael the Paper Company Boss. Both men have VERY different management styles. Its gonna be an interesting vote – depends on if you’re more of a comedy or drama person. I think its gonna be a very tough decision for Stoolies. So far Michael has THRASHED the competition. Its clear that he’s the fan favorite. Is that enough to beat the original HBO Anti-Hero?

The Breaking Bad showdown, not surprisingly, goes to Walter. A lot of people were mad that a Walter vs Jesse meeting happened this early. Thats the way the cookie crumbles, folks. I loved Jesse Pinkman. LOVED him. I thought some of the best acting on that show came from Aaron Paul at times. But the overall body of work goes to Cranston as Walter. Cant have it any other way.

Charlie Kelly continues his Cinderella run! Knocking off G.O.B to make it to the regional final against Walter White. Arrested Development and Always Sunny are right there neck and neck along with Seinfeld as the funniest sitcoms ever. Personally I think Arrested Development is the best, most well written comedy ever. I would have had GOB edge out Charlie in a showdown where each character is representing their show on the whole. But I can’t be mad with Charlie making a little run as a 6 seed. A showdown with Walter White in the elite 8 might be the weirdest TV juxtaposition ever. You cannot get any different than those two.

Larry David knocks off the longest running character in TV history, Homer Simpson. Homer was the most vulnerable of 1 seeds, Larry David was the strongest 5 seed. Thats a recipe for an upset. Homer’s seeding was more a Lifetime Achievement Recognition. Hes a legend and one of the most quotable TV characters ever, but Larry’s brand of humor beats Homer’s 100 times out of 100 for me, and the readers agree.
