Apple Has Created A New Pizza Box To Prevent Pizza From Getting Soggy

Telegraph- Apple is credited with reinventing the mobile phone, the computer and the music industry. Now it has redefined the pizza box. The technology giant has invented a space-age pizza box specially for employees at its new headquarters in California. The circular design – naturally finished in white – features carefully-placed holes that allow heat and moisture to escape, preventing the pizza from getting soggy.

The box, whose design has been patented by Apple, was made to allow staff to take pizzas from the 4,000-seater staff canteen back to their desk. The patent, which was first published in 2012, describes how the box can be easily stacked and features a “plurality of ridges”, “allowing moisture expelled from the food item to be transported away from the food item”.

Did Apple do it again or did Apple do it again? Even though I have become a slave to their products, I have to admit that all things Mac were getting kind of stale. The new iPhones were starting to resemble Madden in that it just seemed like a minor update to an old if not beloved franchise. I couldn’t give less of a shit about what’s going on with the iPad. And the people at Apple are always changing shit like the headphone jack and the charging cord.

But if their best and brightest nerds were put on this project instead of making the iPhone better the last few years, then all is forgiven. In fact, I think this pizza box was worthy of an announcement with someone on stage in jeans and a black turtleneck. Because pizza is the GOAT. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. But you are tasteblind if you don’t think that pizza loses some of its appeal when it is thrown in a box and taken home. Don’t get me wrong, the ceiling is still the roof when it comes to pizza, no matter where it is eaten. But all it takes is One Bite™ to know that pizza in a box at home is completely different that pizzeria pizza. Floppage goes up, crispiness goes down, and the consumer at home ends up being the loser.

If Apple truly fixed the pizza box, it may be the most important thing the company has ever done for the world. Yeah it looks like a birth control case and is only available at Apple HQ for now. But this is just the beginning for the redesigned pizza box. If this box is a game changer like the iPhone was, Apple will have it available to consumers in no time at all. Sure the price of pizza to go will rise EXORBITANTLY. But in the end, I think it is all worth it for people that want to eat pizza at home.
