The Hound From Game Of Thrones Dropping An Omar Little Quote Last Night Was Fantastic

(A couple big spoilers in this video so if you haven’t seen The Wire just know that going in or if you plan on watching the show at some point I’d skip it.)

So Game of Thrones finally returned last night.  For my money the best show on TV right now.  While all of the wrestling nerds were busy watching a scripted sporting event us cool kids were watching dudes get repeatedly stabbed in the fucking face with swords and watching girls get naked for a prince.  If you’re one of these people who hate on GOT by saying “All of that magic, dragons, king and queen, different realms stuff is for losers” then you sir are the loser.  The show is great.  Does trying to keep track of 10,000 characters and 10,000 story lines get frustrating at times?  A little bit but that’s part of the fun.  Last night’s episode was a pretty good one.  A couple guys got stabbed and a couple girls got naked.  A re-introduction to all of the characters and what they’re up to was nice because I had forgotten everything that happened in season 3.  Felt like the show had been gone for 10 years.  I even watched a recap YouTube video that somebody sent me and I still was super lost once the premiere started.

But the best part of last night’s episode happened in that Vine you see above.  The show’s biggest badass, The Hound, paying homage to another show’s (and possible of any show) biggest badass, Omar Little from The Wire.  The shotgun toting, drug dealer robbing, honey nut Cheerio eating, Newport smoking, dude kissing, militant badass from Baltimore has a signature line throughout the show about having a code about how he decides who he robs and who he doesn’t.  And it couldn’t have been an accident that another HBO show’s badass just happened to say pretty much the exact same quote after slaying a bunch of dudes in a bar.  Just two great shows colliding.  I audibly cheered when it happened and rewinded it a couple times to make sure I heard him right.
