Steve Harvey Said That Women Don't Like Asian Men And People Are Calling It Racist

Fusion- Asian Americans have been utterly disrespected onscreen and in Hollywood in general. Yes, there have been some milestone moments, like ABC’s Fresh Off The Boat, Aziz Ansari’s Masters of None, Riz Ahmed starring in The Night Of, and Steven Yeun from The Walking Dead on the cover of Entertainment Weekly. But instead of there being a significant increase in representation, Asian actors are fighting to be seen and their roles are getting whitewashed by actors like Tilda Swinton, Benedict Cumberbatch, Scarlett Johansson, and Matt Damon. Now, to add insult to injury, comedian Steve Harvey deemed Asian men “undateable” in a grossly racist rant during a recent segment of The Steve Harvey Show. And although Harvey has made huge mistakes on national television before, this was something he didn’t seem to have any remorse for.

I don’t get it. I really don’t. Maybe my racism meter is off but I’m not sure what all the outrage is about on this one. This might be me being racist but people like what they like and some women simply don’t like Asian men. It’s no different than other races. You’re attracted to who you’re attracted to. It’s as simple as that. Was it a little weird that he singled out Asian dudes? I guess so but it’s not like he did a super racist Asian impression or anything. The only part I have beef with is when he used his lady voice and said he doesn’t like Chinese food. That’s a bold-faced lie because everyone likes Chinese food. There isn’t a soul walking on God’s green earth who doesn’t like sesame chicken. I firmly believe that. You could feed sesame chicken to a vegetarian or a vegan or whatever the fuck and it’d flip their world upside down. They’d become meat eaters that very second. They just don’t know what they’re missing. So for Steve Harvey to speak on behalf of an imaginary person (#AllLivesMatter) is appalling. That spreading of Chinese food slander is something I cannot and will not support and I hope people protest him for it.

PS- Steve needs to work on his fake laugh.
