Punch that ticket and break out the dancing shoes!  The Panthers are officially going to the dance.  I don’t know what’s going on with college basketball teams from Iowa lately but they seem to play better when they’re down by a shit ton heading into the second half.  A weird way to go about things.  Regardless, great win and a great season for head coach Ben Jacobsen and his Panthers.  They finish the season with a 30-3 record and, after being down by as many as 18 points to Illinois State, won the MVC tournament.  That’s a damn good season and that’s a damn good team they’ve got in Cedar Falls.  Not to mention MVC Player of the Year power forward Seth Tuttle and his team are banging on all cylinders at the right time.  They’ll be a tough out come tournament time. Last I saw Joe Lunardi had them around a 4 seed.  We’ll see where they end up when Selection Sunday rolls around next week.

It feels pretty great having all the Iowa college basketball teams peaking at the right time (minus that two game skid from Iowa State recently.  They rebounded with that insane 22-0 run against Oklahoma).  Iowa’s on a 6-game winning streak and playing easily their best all-around basketball (the complete opposite of last season) as they head to Chicago for the B1G tournament this week.  And now UNI storms through the MVC tournament, grabs the championship and an automatic bid to the big dance.  Just a great time to be a college basketball fan in the state of Iowa.  Iowa basketball is about to take over the tournament.  Let’s go!
