Martha Stewart Had One Of The Great Deadpan Performances At The Bieber Roast
BRAVO! BRAVO!
Alright so this was from the Justin Bieber roast on Comedy Central last night. You’re probably going to be hearing a lot about it today on this blog and and everywhere else because it was actually pretty good. I’m not sure what I was expecting (it’s always a little weird then the subject of the roast asks people to roast them) but it worked out. Lots of great performances. Pete Davidson, Hannibal Buress, Jeff Ross, Snoop, etc. All with great sets. I don’t know if Marth Stewart’s was my favorite of the night but it was damn close. The whole time on Twitter before the show people were like, “What the fuck is Martha Stewart doing there?” including myself. Turns out she was there for a couple of reasons. First, so people could make jokes about her stint in prison and use it as a comparison to the black dudes on stage (happened 6 million times last night). And the second reason was to deliver jokes in perfect deadpan. She killed it. The Ludacris pulling out joke got me. A 73 year old white woman telling a 37 year old black rapper he needs to pull out more makes me happy I’m alive in 2015.
