Golf Digest- Southern California golf is ubiquitous in the television series “Curb Your Enthusiasm.” The weather is perfect, but a storm is always brewing when the lead character bumps against the game’s social norms. Whether he’s facing country-club expulsion for not cleaning his locker or exile for precipitating a slow player’s death, the star’s passion for golf never wavers. We invited Larry David and his good friend Bill Scheft (staff writer for David Letterman and the nephew of legendary golf writer Herbert Warren Wind) for a round at Winged Foot. All afternoon, Larry’s lanky strut and creative cursing could be recognized from two fairways over. Here, the co-creator of “Seinfeld” answers questions from Scheft.

That right there is what makes Larry David the greatest human being to ever exist.  He finds small things in others that allows us to relate to them.  That’s what Seinfeld was all about and what made it so great.  Because you know some version of every person that appeared on Seinfeld.  Maybe not as extreme as represented on the show but you know those people.  They’re your family members or your friends or your co-workers   There’s always a common denominator.  Same goes for Jordan Spieth despite him being Jordan Spieth.  He’s a person who seems impossible to relate to simply because of who he is.  He’s 22 years old, he’s won two majors, he has a ton of money, a smoking hot girlfriend, he’s hanging out with Tiger Woods at Dallas Cowboys games, he’s throwing out first pitches at MLB games, etc etc.  The list goes on and on.  How the hell are we gonna relate to a guy like that?  Enter Larry David.  Spieth’s common denominator?  Dude is bald as fuck and is only gonna get more bald.  Either you’re going bald or you know somebody who is going bald. It just so happens that the bald character on Seinfeld is one of the best characters in the history of television in George Costanza (and is based off Larry David).  That’s Spieth.  He’s your bald friend.  He’s done.

PS- It’s also a thing where you root for people who are like you.  Larry David is bald so he is more inclined to root for a balding guy Jordan Spieth.  I’m fat so I’m more inclined to root for a fat guy like Jason Dufner before he decided to become a traitor to the fat community.
