Metro- A man was frogmarched to the local fire station by his mum after waking up with a bike lock around his neck. Apparently, the twenty-something man had been on an all-night bender in Coventry with his friends, and someone had the bright idea to put the high-security Magnum Plus lock around his neck – and then throw away the keys. Upon waking his head in the lock and presumably a fairly bad hangover, the man was walked to the local fire station in Radford Road, where firefighters used a circular saw to free him. ‘He woke up at about 4pm and found his mates had put the lock round his neck and his mates had thrown away the keys,’ said Pete Drummond of the West Midlands Fire and Rescue Service. ‘His mum brought him in at about 7.30pm. He really did have his tail between his legs.’

I’m not sure what the more embarrassing part of this story is.  The fact that the kid got a bike lock stuck on his head or the fact that he had his Mom take him down to the fire station to get it removed. It honestly might be the latter.  Like okay, you and your drunk friends got a bike lock stuck around your neck.  Show me a person that hasn’t happened to and I’ll show you a liar.  You toss back a few Bud Lights and Jameson shots and next thing you know you’re wearing a bike lock like a necklace.  It happens. Not the end of the world.  If it’s not a bike lock around your neck it’s jumping on a moose and riding it around and now they cops wanna talk to you. Weekends are weekends.  But to have his Mom drag him down to the fire station to get it removed?  Sack up, kid.  Either leave it there or stumble down there yourself.  It’s time to grow up and take yourself down to the fire station when you get drunk and put a bike lock around your neck.  It’s called being an adult.
