CEO Of Levi's Says You Should Never Wash Your Jeans

Kool108Last week, during a sustainability discussion at a green conference, Levi Strauss CEO Chip Bergh surprised the crowd stating that they should NEVER wash their jeans stating. “These are one of my favorite jeans. These jeans are maybe a year old and these have yet to see a washing machine,” says Bergh. “I know it sounds totally disgusting.” Bergh went on to say “It’s fine, I have yet to get a skin disease or anything else. It works.” Bergh also says that skipping the washing machine preserves the fit of your jeans and it also helps the environment by saving energy and water.

Uh, yea, no kidding. I don’t need the CEO of some shitty jeans company to tell me not to wash my jeans. Anyone with a brain knows you don’t need to wash them. I wash my jeans semi-annually, at the most. Sometimes I’ll just switch up pairs after like 6 months and get a rotation of never washing. Because 1) there is nothing worse than freshly washed jeans. Feels like you’re wearing cardboard pants or some shit. Pants made out of papier mache. They shrink and they get crunchy. Awful. And 2) There’s really no reason to wash your jeans if you’re a dude. I mean obviously if you spill beer and food on them or something you gotta clean them. But as far as just like normal every day wear and hygiene, jeans don’t need that shit. Your boxers protect them from the nasty stuff and the rest of your legs ain’t getting your pants dirty. Just no reason to subject yourself to shrunken, rock hard pants when they’re really not all that dirty.
