Calvin Pryor Says The Jets Are The Best 3-12 Team In The History Of Football

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J.For a team that’s completely irrelevant when it comes to this year’s playoff picture, the Jets continue to hold themselves in high esteem. Relatively. For them, a 17-16 loss to the Patriots on Sunday stung. But it was just another chapter in the story of their season that hasn’t changed: They’re constantly in close games that, more often than not, they just happen to lose. “If you look at our season, besides two or three games, we’ve been in every game,” said rookie safety Calvin Pryor. “You can cut it and slice it how you want to. I think we’re — what are we, 3-12? – I think we’re the best 3-12 team in the history of football. No doubt about it.” Pryor’s not alone. “The record doesn’t dictate the team that we are,” said safety Dawan Landry. “We played a lot of close games that could’ve gone either way. We could’ve easily had 10-11 wins. Easily. It just hasn’t been our year. We got one more game, we’re gonna try to finish it off on a high note.” The Jets, rightly or wrongly, say a handful of their losses were flip-of-the-coin games. Having that perspective has allowed them to stay upbeat despite their disastrous record.

Well, I suppose congratulations are in order. Congrats Calvin Pryor! Congrats, New York Jets! You’re the greatest 3 win team in NFL history. No team has ever been better at being 9 games under .500 than you. Only a couple of those 12 losses were blowouts and the rest were close losses! If things just broke our way 15 weeks in a row we would have 10 or 11 wins! Plus we covered the spread against the Pats so thats basically like another win. We’re really 4-12. It must have been all that excitement from having so much room to grow. This team had so much room for improvement they were able to go out there and only lose by 1 this week.

Also bear in mind that we’re STILL the only team in NFL history to win a game 16-11 after that Titans game 2 weeks ago so you do the math. We’re the best 3-12 team ever and we’re still the World Champions of 16 to 11 Games.

In all honesty, the very first thing that needs to change with this franchise is this fucking pathetic mentality where everything is always positive and things arent always as bad as they seem. Before they even worry about a quarterback or the secondary or anything else, they have GOTTA get off this loser mentality where “they had a great practice” or they “didn’t give up” or “we’re better than our record indicates.” No. You’re not. Your record indicates how good you are and your record sucks. Ipso facto this team sucks. I am all for staying positive and I know nobody is gonna go out there and say “we fucking suck,” but you know what? Sometimes I wish someone would. After 5 years of Rex saying we’re gonna win the Super Bowl when we can barely make the playoffs, after this season of John Idzik saying they were a good team when they were witting at 2-7, after Geno Smith saying hes a Pro Bowl caliber quarterback when he’s probably going to be out of the league soon, after Calvin Pryor saying this is the best 3 win team and Calvin Pace says we’re actually a 10 win team, I want to hear some realistic, rational reflection on what this franchise really is. Because their performance is unacceptable, and every time a player/coach/executive gives these quotes about how they’re actually better than this, it makes you feel like they think it is acceptable.

Its like they need to go to a 12 step program or something. First step is acceptance. “Hi, I’m John Idzik, and I admit the Jets fucking suck.”
