We Cannot Allow Australians To Start Getting Into The Outrage Game Over Boomerangs

Sydney - Who knew luxury boomerangs were a thing?

They aren’t, but thanks to Chanel one of Indigenous Australia’s most unique and distinctive emblems has been reduced to a fashion accessory.

The luxury French fashion house is now selling a wood and resin version for a little under $2000.

It retails for $1930 and the internet is not happy with this latest example of crass cultural appropriation, albeit adorned with the coveted Chanel logo.

“Chanel is extremely committed to respecting all cultures, and regrets that some may have felt offended,” a company spokesperson told Fairfax Media.

I am SHOCKED Australians are mad about this. When I think of our Aussie friends, I think of laid back surfer bros, chillin on the beach, hanging out with koala bears, not a care in the world. Australians work about 9 hours a week and then shred the gnarl the rest of the time. So for the Sydney Morning Herald to write that Aussies are “outraged” at this 2,000 dollar boomerang outrages me. They aren’t supposed to have time in their day to care than god damn Chanel is selling a decorative boomerang. On the contrary, they should be honored. Hanging a boomerang on your wall is fucking sweet. Everyone who has ever had a friend or family member go down under has gotten this exact boomerang brought back as a gift:

They look awesome. The Aussies should be more concerned that people are actually buying Chanel’s instead of the dope ass kangaroo one. Chanel’s stinks. But to call it “cultural appropriation”, shut the fuckkkkkkkk up.
