FOX - It’s quite a milestone, 64 years of marriage. When the owner of an Apache Junction Taco Bell learned this about some of his most faithful customers, he decided to throw them an anniversary party they won’t forget. “It’s my mother and my father in law’s 64th wedding anniversary,” said Sherry Lanter. And for such an occasion Charles and Ann Lanter celebrated 64 years of marriage in one of their favorite places; Taco Bell. “We frequent Taco Bell quite often and it’s one of their favorite places to eat. They’ve gotten to know the owner, so he offered to do this for us once he found out their 64th anniversary was coming along.” The owner pulled out all the stops including 64 inches of nachos, one inch for every year they’ve been married. The Lanter’s met when they were just youngsters in church. They now live at Friendship Village in Mesa, a retirement community. “My wife was a member of a trio that sang all over the eastern United States and she was sitting there tuning her guitar, and I was like ‘can I tune that guitar,’ and I’ve been tuning that guitar for 64 years,” said Charles Lanter. “It’s been wonderful, I wish we had 64 more,” said Anne Lanter. “Someone asked what we credit for living together for so long, I said I’ve done a lot of praying,” said “We’re just happy, my only regret we can’t live them again. It’s been a great life, and we’ve enjoyed it,” said The owner of the Apache Junction Taco Bell; Skip Chase, also gave the couple a $64 Taco Bell gift card so they can keep on coming back.

I just wiped tears from my eyes. And I’m not going to claim it’s dusty or someone is cutting onions, I wept out of happiness for them. That’s the most romantic thing I’ve ever read in my life. I think this is another case of the holiday spirit swishing through my veins, but I’ve been a sappy sap recently. I just can’t stop being happy for everyone. Not a cynical bone in my body regarding this story. Tons of jealousy though. I mean, this couple has it all. They call Taco Bell one of their favorite places to eat and go there all the time. Girls, pay attention. Be more like Ann Lanter and less “you never take me anywhere nice, wah wah wah”. It’s not all about the diamonds and making reservations at a fancy restaurant and remembering what day your birthday is, it’s more about frequenting the Bell. That’s the key to a long lasting relationship. Turns out I’ve had it figured out all along, and it’s the girls who won’t speak to me who have it all wrong. I knew it.
