The Sixers Sign Melo Trimble --- The Process Is Now Complete

Well, there it is. The final piece of the process. The rebuild is over. Congrats to the Sixers. It’s actually been a ton of fun to watch, from an outsiders perspective. A team completely embracing the tank, drafting every 7 footer available, drafting Embiid who is just a delight, bringing over Saric, getting Simmons and then seeing him miss an entire year, trading up to get Fultz this year, and now, the final piece of the puzzle, Melo Trimble.

Melo could have left Maryland after his freshman year and possibly been a lottery pick; a first rounder no doubt. He could have left after his sophomore year and probably still been drafted, mid 2nd round at the latest. He stayed for a junior year, and his year wasn’t even that bad, but he found himself undrafted last night. I hate to say it because I hate the city of Philadelphia, but they just got a steal and a half with Melo. The kid is awesome to watch, he’s a great player, awesome dude, and now gets to be best friends with Embiid up in Philly. It’s weird to be happy to see someone go to Philly, but I’m strangely ok with Melo being the final piece of the process.
