The Ravens Play An Important Game Against The Jaguars On Sunday And It'll Be Over By Halftime.

flacco jags

Banks here with another earth-shattering sports take. Ready? The Jags aren’t good at the sport they call football. They stink on offense, they stink on defense, they stink everywhere. This game isn’t that complicated. We’re a good team that needs the W to move closer to a playoff spot. They’re a terrible team in a catfight for position at the top of the draft board next April. So let’s not make this into something it’s not.  This is going to be the Tampa game all over again. We’re going to win and we’re going to win by a lot. Some quick facts why:

– The Jaguars haven’t won a road game in over a year. They’re losing those games by an average of 17 points.

– Blake Bortles is a rookie QB with 10 TD’s and 16 INT’s on the year. The Ravens snack on rookie QB’s. 4 TD’s and 19 INT’s forced since 2008 against rookie QB’s.

– The Jaguars are 28th in rushing defense. The Ravens are 5th in rushing offense. Once we have a lead, they don’t have a prayer of stopping us.

– No pass-rushing duo in football has more sacks than Dumervil and Suggs. The Jags allow more sacks than anyone in football with a staggering 54 sacks allowed.

– Jacksonville’s one strength is actually their pass rush. 3rd in the league with 38 sacks. Too bad we protect our QB better than anyone not named the Broncos. Only 16 sacks allowed all year.

– They’ve had 2 games all year decided by  7 points or less. Blowouts left and right.

– Ravens are third in point differential at +101, and +76 at home.

– The Jags are being outscored by their opponents by a total of 157 points this year. That’s the worst in the NFL. Take our net point differentials, average them out by 13 games played, and we’ve got a 20 point difference per game.

So what we have here is a football game that’ll be over by 1:30. Perfect so that we can watch our AFC North brethren duke it out. 9-5 and onto Houston we go, hopefully in first place if Atlanta and Cleveland feel like doing us any favors.
