C4 - Have you ever been in the mood for chicken and waffles, but because of your hectic and busy schedule, don’t have time to sit down for a meal? Are you at a large sporting event and lack a table and utensils with which to eat your meal? Well, have no fear: The Astros are happy to solve that little issue. That’s right, not only is there fried chicken inside of a waffle cone, but it’s stuffed with fluffy mashed potatoes and topped with honey mustard. That’s a dish that could win you Top Chef, right there.

I’ve said it a few times, but it’s abundantly clear– baseball stadiums are trying to one-up each other in making the most ridiculous foods. First the Brewers came out with the deep-fried nacho on a stick, which sounds just incredible. Then Kent Hrbek introduced the $19 bloody mary. And now, chicken and mashed potatoes in a waffle cone. With a nice drizzle of honey mustard on top? Phenomenal. I don’t know why it’s baseball that has taken the lead on making heart attack city food, but that’s where we’re at in life and I could not be happier. Baseball needed this boost. Ratings are down. Games are long. But now that every stadium is rolling out something new every year, baseball on back on the upswing. As long as they don’t send a cease and desist for writing about them.
