Ravens-Jets "Please Don't Lose To Geno Smith" Live Blog

This is a huge make or break game for the Ravens. They’re in a major funk having lost 3 in a row, and 3-4 with the weak early schedule would be an unmitigated disaster. I mean, it kinda already is a disaster, but the AFC North isn’t quite the dogfight we expected it to be. 4-3 would put the Ravens back on track with the golden opportunity to face a potentially Big Ben-less Steelers after the bye. The schedule from there would be tough, but they’d be in the drivers seat with a win there.

Gotta beat the Jets first though. They’re 1-5 and have finally turned to Geno Smith, who isn’t likely to help the situation much at all. But the Ravens have a tendency to play down to their competition, and they’ve got a laundry list of inactives yet again. No Yanda, no Steve Smith, no Ronnie Stanley, no CJ Mosley…. it’s a recipe for disaster. They need that bye week more than ever. Expect this to be yet another close one that comes down to the final drive. It’s what the Ravens do. I just hope they come out on the right side of the coin this time.
