Max Scherzer Has Been Unbelievable In His First 5 Starts
The fact Max Scherzer is 1-3 with how insanely well he’s pitched this year is ridiculous. 5 lights out starts.
Hasn’t given up more than 2 ER in a game. Averaging over a strikeout per inning with a 39/5 K/bb ratio. Just crazy good.
Meanwhile Matt Harvey who is probably the front-runner for the Cy Young right now is 5-0 (with a worse ERA and fewer strikeouts) for the Mets, who just dropped 3 out of 4 to the Nats. Through all that long sports weekend, it went under the radar that the Nats beat the Mets 1-0 in back to back games and are now only 4 games out of first. That’s why I don’t put too much stock into little April losing streaks. Everyone was writing the Nats off at game 10. They just hit a road bump early. It’s such a long season. The Nats are too talented. And with Scherzer leading the way and Rendon coming back soon, all will be right in the NL East before long.
