Caps Drop Game 3 in OT After An Incredible Performance By Braden Holtby

Man, what can you say? The Islanders played a dominating game. Going into the 3rd period they were outshooting the good guys 33-13. And then the Caps slammed on the gas pedal and tied it up and had a few really good chances to win the game in the 3rd period. I had 5 heart attacks today. Braden Holtby bounced back from being deadly ill and stood on his head the entire game after being peppered with shots nonstop. Pretty sure I saw him turn into a brick wall Wayne Gretzky 3D Hockey 64 style.

Today’s game was everything playoff hockey should be. Fast, physical, crowd was into it, and great plays up and down the ice. Caps lost Eric Fehr really early in the game so were put at a disadvantage quickly, which hurt.

Caps need to win game 4, obviously. They need to be on the gas pedal the entire time. They can’t let the Islanders skate all over them and stay in their zone for large chunks at a time. Caps need to get in front of Halak and throw pucks at the net from all angles. Shoot the puck and then shoot it more.

Down 2-1 but not over yet.
