After Losing A Game 7 At Home 4 Straight Seasons, The Ducks Should Change Back To The Mighty Ducks
Deja Blue is right. I don’t even know how it’s possible. 4 straight years the Ducks have lost a game 7 at home. It’s one of the saddest stats out there. The Ducks have lost more home game 7s in the last 4 years than the Montreal Canadiens have ever lost, and the Habs have been around since the 1400’s. This is the 2nd time in 4 seasons they’ve lost in the 1st round after winning the West. I love Bruce Boudreau. He’s one of the best coaches the NHL has. But he’s now 1-7 in game 7’s. And believe me, I’m well aware of some of those losses. Just so fucking brutal. I don’t know how much blame you put on the coach and how much is the universe just working in mysterious ways, but it’s one of the wackiest things going in sports right now. The Ducks STINK in game 7’s:
Yahoo - This is what the Ducks do, unfortunately. In 2013, in a Game 7 against the Detroit Red Wings, they gave up two goals in the first 16:37. In 2014, it was two goals in the first 8:48 against the Los Angeles Kings. In 2015, it was two goals in the first 11:55 against the Chicago Blackhawks; then, in Game 7 against the Predators, it was two goals in the first 15:53.
The only way for the Ducks to turn this around is go back to the Mighty Ducks. Bring back the old colors, the old logos, Guy Hebert, bring in Bombay, everything. Get some good jew-jew going. I don’t believe in curses, but the Ducks are cursed. Something is off in the Universe. Have to yin when the universe yangs. There’s a reason this team has lost a game 7 at home 4 straight seasons and you might as well start from the beginning, the very beginning. It’s like any movie you’ve ever seen- retrace your steps back to the source and then go forward. Of course they won the Cup in 06-07 so I’ll never feel bad for fans of the team, but when you lose 4 straight game 7’s at home, you need to shake things up. Just bring back this bad boy
