NYDN - So long, soft drinks. Burger King has removed sodas from its printed kids’ menu, following similar moves by rivals McDonald’s and Wendy’s. Like those chains, Burger King will now highlight fat-free milk, apple juice and low-fat chocolate milk as kids’ drink options, a company rep told the Daily News. Parents can still order fountain drinks to accompany their children’s cheeseburgers — but the sodas are no longer listed on the menu. The change is part of the company’s “effort to offer our guests options that match lifestyle needs,” Burger King North America’s President Alex Macedo told USA Today. Advocates say keeping sugared drinks off the menu will help parents avoid fights with their kids.

What a terribly shitty idea by Burger King. McDonalds already did this. So this was BK’s chance to separate themselves from McDonalds. To start getting in the pockets of the youth of America. Don’t they get this? People certainly aren’t going to Burger King for the healthy options. It’s Burger King. They should be promoting themselves to the poor people. They should be making the kids meals double as big. Show who is the boss. You can’t call yourself “The King” and then remove soda. Bush league. These fast food places have no balls. They used to have integrity. They used to stand up for themselves and be all about the fat life. Now they serve apple sauce instead of fries and milk instead of soda. Thanks Obama.
