Well It Had To End Sometime

How Colorado knew I had “underwear issues” is beyond me

No one thought this streak was going to last forever. It obviously was going to end. And a night like last night, playing against a fast team that outplayed us 2 days ago, in high altitude, playing the 6th game in 9 nights, was the perfect time. After the first period we didn’t have a chance. Totally dominated. But that’s fine. Because like I’ve said from the very beginning, this start means nothing if there isn’t a finish hoisting the cup. It’s just stupid trivia, an obscure graphic on ESPN, if the words Stanley Cup Champions aren’t eventually put next to 2013 Chicago Blackhawks then none of this matters. So yeah, it sucks that it had to end, because it was genuinely a lot of fun. Watching this team play some of the best hockey I have ever seen in my life for the past 2 months has been a joy. But that’s the good part about last night. It was just one game. Half the season left. President’s Trophy, Campbell Bowl and Stanley Cup. A start like this has put us in the driver’s seat for all 3.

And if you’re someone who actually is feeling down about one game, well we still have this…
