Too Little Too Late

Stop me if you've heard this before, but the Bruins couldn't overcome a slow start, and their lack of offense early torpedoed them despite a 3rd period push. The Bruins pulled within 2 late in the 3rd but Florida takes Game 3, 6-2.

FINAL: Florida 6, Boston 2

Quick notes:

- The Bruins lost Brad Marchand after 2 periods after he took a hard hit from Sam Bennett. He looked a little dazed coming up from the hit. He was questionable to return. No word on his injury.

- You're not gonna win many hockey games, if any when you can't generate any offense. 31 shot attempts in the past 2 games combined is fucking pathettticccc. The only life they're getting is from the 3rd line, Brazeau and company. Simply not good enough.

- The Bruins did make a late push, with Lauko and DeBrusk getting on the board in the 3rd. They had a monumental chance on the PP to cut it 1 but no dice. DeBrusk's chance in front pinged the crossbar. Just pain. The urgency they showed came two periods too late.

- The Bruins are getting destroyed down the middle. I know Marchand is out, and we'll see what his availability turns out to be for Sunday, but we need new lines. I loved the Lauko addition, despite his dogshit penalty against him. He gave the B's some hope with his 1st career playoff goal.

- I truly can't believe I am turning into a person that yells "SHOOT" and "OUT". The lack of offense is stunning but the turnovers are generally self inflicted. SO many pucks being coughed up, back into the slot OF THEIR OWN ZONE, instead of out. It's insanity. Forbort with time and space, puck doesn't get out, Panthers score to make it 2-0. It's truly killer. Zacha, same thing.

- Give me Grzelcyk or anyone that will help push the puck up and out of the zone, please.

- The turning point of the game was the Bruins finally making a push down 1-0, and Mason Lohrei taking a 4 minute high sticking penalty. Lorentz was digging for blood, and credit to the Panthers, they made them pay. Just feels like every time Boston got momentum, they shot themselves in the foot. It's painful to watch. Yes, Florida is the deeper team, but Boston's self-inflicted wounds is making it easy for them.

- Not sure if it's mental or physical, but Charlie McAvoy is FIGHTING IT right now. Plays are dying on his stick. Need to see the best of 73 on Sunday or else it's over.

- The Bruins PK fell apart, allowing 4 goals on six attempts in Game 3. We can argue about how dogshit the refs are all we want. The Lauko call was insane. The Geekie hit happens 2934 times a game. But you have to tighten up against them.

- Jeremy Swayman once again was Boston's best player on the ice. I do worry about fatigue. Does Montgomery dare go to Ullmark in what feels like a must-win Game 4? He has great numbers against Florida this year. Gives Swayman some rest, and no matter what Sway will get the net in Game 5???? Something to think about. Arguments could be made for both sides. I truly don't know, I say don't overthink it but at the same time maybe Ullmark gives the team some indication they need to start the game on time???

Game 4 Sunday night in Boston. It's been 2 straight games of Florida dominating, time to see what the Bruins are truly made of.
