This Cubs Team Is So Hard To Beat, Up 2-0 Going To San Fran

Last night I tweeted this as I was walking out of the stadium with my phone about to die. What a team. Saw when I woke up a few people say “What a team?” You guys won 2 games, that’s it. Well no. What a team was in reference to the fact that the Cubs lost arguably their best pitcher in 2016 3 innings into last night’s game and still won going away. What a team for guys like Travis Wood, who came in with little warm up, shut the Giants down and hit a laser beam.

What a team because he was followed by Carl Edwards Jr, Montgomery, Rondon, and Chapman for a grand total bullpen stat line of 5 1/3rd, 2 hits, 6 k’s, 0 er. What a team because the Cubs got 3 rbi’s from their pitchers last night, because Javy Baez remains a MONSTER, because Jason Heyward woke up, because Anthony Rizzo and Addison Russell are a combined 0-14 and the Cubs are still up 2-0, because they are going into Monday with the reigning Cy Young pitcher still yet to pitch in this series, that’s a team. I’ve warned a million times that this is still going to be a long month with ups and downs but this team is nails and they will beat you a million different ways. What a team, what a weekend. See everyone next weekend in Chicago.

PS
What are the odds that Jason Heyward would double, Javy Baez would walk, and Kyle Hendricks would hit a 2 rbi single all in the SAME inning? That has to be about a billion to one right?
