The Wife Of An Allman Brother's Founding Member Charged With 18 Counts Of Aggravated Assault With A Firearm

SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – An Osprey woman is facing several felony charges after sheriff’s deputies say she threatened a group of teenagers and young adults with a rifle.

Deputies say 62-year-old Donna Betts was standing on a dock on Palmetto Avenue around 5:30 Monday night, aiming the weapon at a rowing team practicing on the water.

Several victims told deputies Betts was pointing the rifle and threatening to shoot team members and coaches if they came onto her property. She later threw the weapon into the water and went back inside her home.

The rifle was recovered, and Betts was taken into custody Tuesday morning. She’s been charged with 18 counts of aggravated assault with a firearm.

I feel for Donna. You’re trying to relax on your dock and listen to nature and calm down after a long day and then these rowdy teens come across your property line yelling “ROW! ROW! ROW! ROW! ROW!” at the top of their lungs? No way. Not on my watch.

After the third ROW! I’d have my rifle at the ready. Donna showed great restraint in not firing. What does she get for throwing her rifle in the water? Enough charges to place her trophy wife ass in prison for the rest of her life. Hate to see it.
