So That Was The Worst Regular Season Night For Any City In Sport's History Right?

GOOD MORNING CHICAGO!!!! How we doing guys? Anything I miss last night? Any big news about our sports teams crashing and burning in a short 2 hour window? No? Cool, great.

Alright, got that out of the way, I actually contemplated just going full on Lloyd Braun and pretending none of this happened. Lose my mind a little and become that crazy guy down the street that isn’t even remotely in touch with reality. But I can’t, because I’m here to blog and blogging is what I must do. Quick synposis of what we’ve got going on this morning as well as a little schedule for the blogging day.

Derrick Rose. If you’re reading this Derrick Rose has torn his knee again. It is his meniscus, the same meniscus he got surgically repaired last year after the Portland injury. It sucks not just because that’s the end of the Bulls season but because it could be the end of Derrick Rose’s career. His legs stink, they’re just incredibly shitty legs. And the cruelest part of it all is that he has all the talent in the world and could have been an all time great, but those legs, they’re just so god damn shitty, I’m talking Penny Hardaway/Brandon Roy shitty. I’ve heard people floating around the possibility that they will cut the Meniscus out this time and his recovery time will be similar to Russell Westbrook’s when he did the same and only missed 6 weeks. That’s fine, but if you haven’t mentally said to yourself “Derrick Rose is done for the year”, then you are just operating in a make believe world. I don’t even know if he’ll go the quicker route, remember D-Wade has notoriously said he greatly regrets having that specific procedure, and even if he does, well let’s just say Derrick Rose hasn’t had a track record of “rushing back” after injury, which is fine. So that’s over with, done. It’s depressing and sad, mostly for Derrick Rose and the fact that no matter how hard he works his shitty legs won’t cooperate, but it sucks for us as well, because that’s it for the Bulls season.

Patrick Kane. Oh boy, you know that trick when you were a kid when someone would throw a ball in the air and you’d look up to catch it and while you were looking up they would pelt you in the penis with a second ball you didn’t know existed? That was what the Patrick Kane injury was. Derrick Rose we all sort of in a sick way expected at some point, Kane’s injury was a flukey shoulder thing that most likely is a broken collarbone (it’s a broken collarbone but will be diagnosed simply as an upper body injury). The report this morning is saying more than 6 weeks and up to 10, which sounds like 6-8 weeks to me and would put his return right at the start of the playoffs, which is bad but not the end of the world. The Blackhawks have looked resigned to their playoff seeding for some time now. They’re a championship team that knows the regular season is a simple formality. Obviously if it’s longer and he shredded his shoulder then it’s donezo for the Hawks season as well. This injury sucks, don’t get me wrong, but Kane is one of the best player’s in the NHL with an incredibly bright future that wasn’t jeopardized last night. Hope it’s the 6-8 weeks and the Hawks still have a chance at a cup, if it’s not, this season is over but at least the future is still bright.

Soooooo, what’s on tap for the rest of the day? Well, we’ll do some more blogs about both of these items because they are the biggest stories in Chicago and Nationally. I’m going to buy some stupid shit on Amazon at some point in a funk buster and we’ll move on. Pick up the pieces and go forward. Hey at least our baseball teams don’t stink right? At least we don’t think they stink (they probably stink).
