So if you missed the game last night (I hope you missed the game last night), I’ll set the scene. Ryan Mallett gets the wind knocked out of him on a hard hit no doubt, something that would cripple a blogger and have him eating out of a feeding tube for the rest of time, but a hit most NFL quarterbacks take with relative ease. Stay in the game, little winded for a play or two, then get your legs back under you. Especially when you’re a quarterback who doesn’t have a firm job and could be benched at any minute. Well Ryan Mallett came out, he came out and Brian Hoyer came in and went down the field on a nice little field goal drive and that was that. Ryan Mallett then put on a mope fest for the ages, stunned he lost his job even though he never really had it firmly to begin with. I’m not a big body language guy and I understand my quarterback has been criticized of this from time to time (if you watched last year when he got benched he was actually super helpful to Clausen and completely in the game, something no one talks about) but Ryan Mallett is different. He’s the guy who didn’t show up to camp after he lost his starting job and pretended his alarm didn’t go off when that is almost impossible to have happen in 2015. He’s the guy who mocked Cam Newton when down 2 scores in a game the Texans lost. This guy is the biggest baby of all time. And to top it off he went into the locker room early after Brian Hoyer threw a hail mary to end the half. I’m actually shocked he didn’t try to steal the gameballs and go home, that’s how big of a baby Ryan Mallett is.

The good news though for Ryan Mallett? Well Brian Hoyer is still Brian Hoyer and he ended the game throwing a jump ball towards 3 Colts in the middle of the field, so my guess is Ryan Mallett will get another chance to lose his job again. Poor Bill O’Brien, legitimately feel bad for the guy.

Loved the waterboy being like nah man, you don’t need water, you need to stop sucking at being quarterback.
