Roger Goodell Admits He Screwed Up The Ray Rice Suspension In Letter To NFL Owners

KFC just blogged about the new rules but Goodell apologizing was actually my biggest takeaway from the letter to the NFL Owners. The new rules are great but I think we all expected that to happen. What I didn’t expect was for Roger Goodell to admit he fucked up. Not in a million trillion years. And that is why people are frustrated with the NFL. The rules are often times crazy, the on field penalties getting more and more outlandish but at the end of the day the real frustration comes from the fact that Goodell seemingly doesn’t listen or give a fuck what anyone has to say. That he basically sits in his office in New York with his fingers in his ears thinking everything is great. Well this is the first time I can remember where he openly is saying, no, everything is not ok, I fucked up. Good on him. It’s not like I was ever going to stop watching the NFL but it’s nice to know every once and a while that the guy in charge, the guy captaining the ship actually hears what the millions upon millions of fans think. The only thing worse than being wrong is being wrong and pretending you’re right. You pass the test today Roger, this one time.

Now cue the music for anytime anyone admits to being wrong.
