Putin Says Russia Was A "Class Higher" Yesterday Even Though They Lost On The Scoreboard

Vladimir Putin was in attendance for the United States’ thrilling shootout win over the Russian hockey team on Saturday.However, the Russian president still believes the home team was superior, according to Jim Heintz of the Associated Press.After the game, Putin said he was proud of the effort put forth by Russia, and he felt they had a stronger team than the victorious U.S.

“I think our team played very worthily. It seemed to me they were a class higher — a little bit higher.”

Putin has been talking quite a bit about hockey, mentioning that many Russians were fans of players on Team USA during a visit with American athletes last week, and wishing members of the Canadian delegation luck in the games before adding, “maybe not at all of the hockey matches,” according to the New York Times.

Well that really took the wind out of my sails. Woke up this morning and thought to myself, man yesterday was awesome. Yeah it wasn’t the medal round but any time you can beat Russia is a good day, especially when you get stoolies together from city to city and rage at 6 in the morning. Well now it just seems hollow. Putin said it, Russia technically won. I mean they were better, flat out. They were better than the Americans even though they didn’t score as many goals which is usually how games are played. But not in Russia, it’s just best team in Putin’s eyes wins. Total kick in the balls.  USA 3, Russia 2 4 (2 class points). Sucks.

Guess we’ll just erase all this video Putin, now that we lost.
