Pirates Fans Have Made A List Of Chants To Rattle Arrieta During Tomorrow Night's Game, Are Officially The Most Scared Fans In All Of Sports
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — One local Pirates fan has come up with a strategy for fans attending the Pirates’ Wild Card game
Wednesday. And he’s hoping it’ll give the Bucs a big advantage. Bill Ferari came up with a list of chants — one for each inning while the Cubs are pitching. He’s trying to spread the word and get as many fans as he can on board. He’s hoping his plan will be enough to rattle Jake Arrieta when he’s on the mound. If you want to join him, here are the chants he suggests for when the opposing team is pitching:
- Inning 1 constantly chant pitchers last name (example “ARR I ET A!”)
- Inning 2 constantly MAKE NOISE when pitcher is standing on mound, plus everyone has both arms up and to the left and when pitcher is about to release ball move both arms right
- Inning 3 totally quiet until pitcher starts wind up then MAKE NOISE!
- Inning 4 constantly chant pitchers first name (example “JA KEY!”)
- Inning 5 totally quiet until pitcher winds up then yell “Arrrrrrr!” (like pirate)
- Inning 6 constantly chant pitchers last name (example “ARR I ET A!”)
- Inning 7 totally quiet until pitcher starts his wind up then whistle or yell in a high pitched voice!
- Inning 8 constantly MAKE NOISE when pitcher is standing on mound plus everyone has both arms up and to the left and when pitcher is about to release ball move both arms right
- Inning 9 constantly MAKE NOISE when pitcher is standing on mound
And any time an opposing pitcher throws a ball, he wants fans to immediately yell, “Ball!”
Is this the most pathetic thing you have ever seen in your life? Chant “JAKEY”? Make an Arrrrr sound like a pirate? Put your arms up and move them around when the pitcher pitches? This can’t be real. Am I reading the Onion right now? Jesus Christ Pirates fans, pull yourself together. Which of these two teams has a championship drought lasting over a century long, I honestly can’t tell with how scared Pittsburgh is on twitter. And I totally get it too, Jake Arrieta should scare the fuck out of any opposing team. I know everyone keeps saying that playoff baseball is different but even if Jake regresses, what does that mean? He’ll let a couple of baserunners reach second at some point? Maybe give up 3 hits instead of 1? That would honestly be a step back for him. So I get it, Pirates fans are slowly realizing that Jake Arrieta is about to walk into Pittsburgh and rip their hearts out of their chest, that is terrifying, but die with dignity, please. This shit is just embarrassing.
Love the Pirate fans trying to come at Arrieta on twitter. They don’t even understand he’s relishing in every tweet and every doubter. Jake Arrieta wants it loud, he wants everyone in black, and then and only then will he give Pittsburgh the permission to die.

For the record, after Jake wins tomorrow night I’m immediately turning back into a scared Cubs fan. I think the Cubs are better than the Cardinals but I know the Cardinals always have something flukey happen and the Cubs will probably get swept and Bryant will get injured and Lester’s arm will fall off for no reason whatsoever. But Jake Arrieta is different, I would go to hell and back for him at this point, that’s how much I believe.
