People Are Up In Arms Because Hawk Harrelson Said "Next Thing You Know We'll Have Catchers Wearing Skirts" After A Play At The Plate In Yesterday's White Sox Game

I’m not a huge Hawk fan. I know White Sox fans love him, and I can appreciate that, but I personally find him annoying. But with that said I really have no problem with him saying this. Why? Well for one it’s Hawk Harrelson. If you’re tuning into Hawk for enlightened opinions and Political Correctness you’ve come to the wrong place. Hawk is about rooting exceptionally hard for the White Sox, funny off beat stories, and weird calls. That’s what Hawk does, it’s not like he’s ever changed or pretended to be something he’s not. And 2, we’ve become so crazy overly PC on every single little issue that I actually appreciate guys like Hawk saying old school shit like this. He’s like Ditka. I may not agree with every little thing they say but soon both of these guys will be gone and all we’ll have left is a bunch of people constantly walking on egg shells, being careful what they say at all times so that they don’t get hounded by PC America. Fuck that. I may not be a Hawk fan but I can still appreciate him from time to time and this is one of those times.

Oh and the point isn’t totally wrong. I understand the new home plate collision rules. Player safety and less injuries, but the game has lost an element that I used to enjoy. Collisions at home used to be AWESOME. Now that’s gone and it sucks. This is what “blocking” the plate in 2014 looks like.
