Is It Crazy That I Am Now Actually Impressed With How Long DeflateGate Has Gone On For?

Look I got no dog in the fight here. I’ve said many many times that maybe something shady was going on but a 4 game suspension was ludicrous. Fine the Patriots and move on, take away their picks for cheating and be done with it, the AFC Championship game was a blowout and this is all silly. But that is neither here nor there at this point. Now I just want everyone to take a step back and realize how truly incredible DeflateGate is. This has now gone on for over half a year. 27 weeks, 191 days. That is remarkable. An entire offseason has come and gone and we’re still going on with this shit. It is the controversy that will never ever die. And now, with today’s news, it’s going to live on even longer. Brady will appeal, it will go to a court, and more months will pass where we talk about the PSI of a ball.

I need one of those stupid charts they use to show how long shit has lasted for. Since the start of Deflategate we found Pluto, 238,082 people have been born, 123,083 people have died, 4 bloggers have been arrested, and the price of a carton of milk went from 2.37 to 2.38 (this last one sucked). Just goes to show that the NFL is and will always be King. I’ve always thought Dave was kind of crazy for his rantings and ravings on DeflateGate but at this point I’m starting to believe this is exactly what the NFL wanted. The perfect controversy, a story that will last for an entire offseason, sparking up every now and then to steal the spotlight of all the other sports, covering up concussions or player’s getting into legal trouble. Incredible, it’s absolutely incredible. DeflateGate has gone from a joke, to exhausting, to super exhausting, to I can’t believe we’re still actually doing this, to impressive. It has outlasted us all. It is baxter getting into the fridge and eating a whole wheel of cheese, I’m not even mad anymore, just impressed.
