Yesterday's Game Proves That the Patriots Have No Rivals

(Oops did I put in the wrong picture? Don’t know how that got in there? My bad)

You know what is sometimes lost in all my bluster and bravado? The fact that I’m generally right about everything. I mean I spent all week talking about how the Giants didn’t have the Patriots number. How it’s just a weird coincidence that both of our Superbowl losses happen to be against them. That when you play in 6 close Superbowls that all come down to 1 or 2 plays sometimes you don’t get all the breaks.

Yesterday’s game proved exactly what I was talking about. The dropped interception by NY was like the dropped interception by Assante Samuel. The dropped TD by Odel Beckham was like the dropped pass by Wes Welker.  Yes the Giants could have theoretically won yesterday just like we could have theoretically beaten them in both Superbowls.  The point is the Patriots consistently play great every single week. They consistently win their division. They consistently make it to the Superbowl. They consistently put themselves in position to win Lombardi Trophies. The Giants don’t. That’s why I don’t consider them a rival. We’ve been in 6 superbowls and won 4 of them. They’ve been in 2 total with Eli. That’s not a rival franchise. It just so happens that our 2 losses were against them, but that doesn’t mean they ever had our number. They were very good those 2 years just like every team we played in the Superbowl was very good. They got the breaks in those 2 games just like we got the breaks in our other 4 superbowl wins. We could have easily beaten NY and lost to Seattle.  Bottomline is teams have come and gone during our dynasty run, but the only thing that has remained the same is we’re always king of the mountain.  We’re always there in the end.  No other team can say that.  No other team can look us eye to eye.
