What are We Supposed to Make of the NFL Posting a Pro-Brady Video?

Wait. What? After almost two years of treating Tom Brady like a baby treats a diaper, the NFL wants to play nice?

And I’m not just talking about spending tens of millions of dollars going after him with a witch hunt so sleazy yo can’t even call it “McCarthyite.” Because at least the Commie bastards Ol’ Tailgunner Joe was going after were real. The NFL went further than just creating this myth about cheating and asterisks and “destroyed” cell phones. While the battle was being fought out in court, the league opened a second front on their own social media accounts to throw passive/aggressive shade at Brady.

First there was this, from Troy Vincent, the guy who was supposed to be deciding Brady’s fate, but who never fooled anyone that he’s anything more than Roger Goodell’s sock puppet: .

Then remember this little chestnut? A Tweet they claimed was “inadvertent,” but took down after taking withering fire from Patriots fans who knew better:

P.S.I. Get it? That’s the joke! So funny, they followed it up with this clever little bit of insult comedy:

“So. Many. Diamonds!” SMD!!! OMG! LOL! ROFL! Happyface, Winkyface, Laughterface, Pile of poop with eyes! Of course it didn’t take much digging to figure out that the head of the NFL office in charge of running the social media posts was one @DuanefromNJ, who suffers from the curse of being a Jets fan. But that’s his cross to bear.

No, the real question is, what do we do with this? Those of us who’ve never given up this fight. Who’ve never once stopped the Defending the Wall. Does the NFL think they can throw a few pro-Tom Brady posts out there and all will be forgiven? That we’ll just beat our swords into plowshares and turn our bygones into other bygones?

This must be exactly what it feels like to be Trump, having Romney and Lyin’ Ted come crawling to him, trying to sue for peace. But the difference is they took nothing from The Donald. Not one state. Not even one vote. The NFL took four games and two draft picks, none of which are coming back, ever. So I liked it a lot better when they were trolling Brady instead of kissing his ass. That world made sense. Which means I think we all need to ignore this video. Look at it crosseyed like one of Feitelberg’s drunken texts and mentally delete it. Then it’s like it never happened.
