We're So Close To Having A Female In The NFL It's Scary

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP)Frustrated and maybe a bit embarrassed, Lauren Silberman fought back tears after kicking her way into NFL history. She became the first woman to try out at a regional combine Sunday, but she lasted all of two kicks — none of which traveled even 20 yards. The 28-year-old New York City resident hurt her right quadriceps while preparing for the tryout earlier in the week, and attributed her struggles to that injury. “I tried staying off it and waited for today,” she said. “I didn’t even take kicks in warm-ups, and, it’s pretty hard to know that you’ll be in pain, and I wanted to work through it and I certainly tried to, but I just couldn’t do it today.” “I know I can do a lot more,” she added.

KFC has been really on top of this all weekend but I’m still getting tons of emails about it. Guess people just like reading my blogs so much they skip the Super Blog all together and come right to Boston. That’s understandable.

Anyway this has to be a real dagger for the feminists. They HATE it when we say women are the fairer sex. Feminists love to play the “anything you can do I can do” playground game. Well when it comes to athletics I think it’s finally time to put that theory to rest. Manon Rheaume couldn’t hack it. Annika Sorenstam couldn’t hack it. And Lauren Silberman can barely kick for a first down. Time to throw in the towel ladies. And by throw in the towel I mean go do laundry. Sports aren’t your thing. For God’s sake we haven’t even considered the physicality of the sports yet. You were doing the parts where 300 pound men don’t try and kill you and you still failed miserably. Knock it off. We’re better at sports. You’re better at growing new people. Let’s just call it even and go back to doing what we were each born to do.
