The Warriors Smell Blood

Two down, two more to go until the greatest basketball season in NBA history is complete. I must admit, before Game 1 I was pretty confident this was going to be a long series. I mean it went 6 last year, and that was with Delly playing a major role. Well, after what we just saw in Oakland, the Cavs will be lucky to win a game. Now, as someone that used this same logic to try and suppress their denial of how bad things were in the first round, technically it isn’t really over until you lose at home. The problem with this current 0-2 hole the Cavs find themselves in though, is now it’s just as much a mental thing, as it is a basketball thing.

I’m not talking so much about those storylines that will talk about Lebron’s mental strength, or how T-Lue is being put in a coaching bodybag, but you have to start to wonder what type of damage for Warriors are putting on this team as a whole. For example, if you’re trying to beat the Warriors, your only shot is to turn them over. Well, CLE had 26 points off 21 turnovers. They lost by 33. That in and of itself makes no sense. Those two numbers don’t go together. 21 turnovers and a 33 point win. Ridiculous. Then you think well, at least the league is doing them a favor by assigning both Scott Foster AND Tony Brothers to Game 2. It’s well documented that the Warriors are something crazy like 22-5 in non Foster games, and were 4-4 in Foster reffed games. CLE went on to win the FTA battle 24-10. More than twice as many, and it didn’t matter. That wears on you, and when that happens, your effort disappears.

After two games, that’s clearly what’s happening. The effort from CLE is just so lazy. You have multiple occassions where they are just fumbling the ball out of bounds. Passes through hands type shit. On the defensive end there’s no communication as GS basically cut at will

I always thought that if the Cavs got to face this Warriors team with their full lineup, that this had the opportunity to be an all time Finals. Maybe Love and Kyrie being hurt clouded our judgement that they were really going to make a difference. Their body language looks TERRIBLE. There comes a time when you just become a broken team, and it’s safe to say the Cavs are on the ropes. They have been OWNED by GS

As someone who revels in a good Lebron choke job, this might be my favorite. Sure when his super team in MIA failed that was fun. During the Big 3 Era was good, but he didn’t have the help on those teams. This team, Lebron hand picked. This is what he is left with after trying to be the best player, coach, and GM. He’s made his bed now he has to lie in it. Hey we are still a few years away from beating him again, so this is the next best thing. If you look at how the Cavs got to the Finals, they were getting crazy production from Kyrie and JR, especially from beyond the arc. Well, that turned back into a pumpkin real fast and the Cavs are shit out of luck. Their secondary and role players have fucked them to start this series.

On the flip side, the Warriors are 2-0 and Curry hasn’t even scored over 20 points yet. Klay either. Instead, the best player this Finals for GS comes from a guy who almost played them out of a chance to even make the Finals. Draymond Green completely owns the Cavs. He’s averaging 22/9/6/2.5 on 50% shooting from both the field and from deep. Throw in another great run by the Brazilian Blur and the Warriors have simply been getting better production from their non MVPs. Sure they may not play this well once the series goes back to CLE, but you know who probably will wake up? One of the Splash Brothers, probably both.

A loss on Wednesday all but locks the series up, and Kevin Durant I sure as shit hope you were watching.

P.S.
