The Spelling Bee Ends With A Co-Champion For The THIRD Straight Year

NATIONAL HARBOR, Md.For the third year in a row, the Scripps National Spelling Bee has ended with two champions.

Nihar Janga, 11, of Austin, Texas, and Jairam Hathwar, 13, of Painted Post, N.Y., were declared co-champions Thursday night after fighting to a draw during 39 rounds of competition.

Ties are like kissing your sister and even if that would most likely be a step-up for spelling champions, three years in a row is much too much sibling smooching. There very clearly needs to be an update to the rules like after the 2002 All-Star game when the MLB decided to add incentives for a win. You don’t keep fucking the fans year, after year, after year. We’re here for ruthless competition and these constant ties represent the very death of that. I’m not a spelling contest expert but maybe tell these kids that if they lose Trump will assume they’re all Muslim and deport them? Just spit-balling here, but that seems like a good way to turn the heat up and assure that this ends with a real victory.

You think you’re doing the kids a favor by sparing them the embarrassment of a loss, but what’s really happening is you’re taming lions. Does this look like the kind of kid who’s happy to tie?

No, he thrives off competitive spirit and loves the war. That’s a soldier right there and you’ve just taught him to not bother being so concerned with petty things like “winning” because in the end, the parents might decide that it’s better if everyone shares the trophy rather than someone needing to cry on the comfort couch. It ruins the drama for all involved.
