The 2016 "All How Are They Still In College” Tournament Team

Every year when you watch the tournament there are certain guys where you are like “no fucking way that guy is still in college. I remember watching him play in late 90’s. No chance he’s still got eligibility left. So without further ado here is my starting five for this years all graduated team.

Trevor Cooney

There is a school of thought out there that Gerry McNamara just changed numbers and became Eric Devndorf who then changed numbers and became Trevor Cooney.

To be honest it’s not the craziest thing I’ve ever heard. Like as far as conspiracy theories go it’s pretty believable. Because if it’s not true that just means Trevor Cooney has been at Syracuse for a decade.

Perry Ellis

Anytime you’re balding in college it just gives off the vibe you’ve been in college forever. Combine that with the fact that Perry Ellis is right on the bubble of being a superstar but not good enough to leave early and Kansas is always on TV and that’ show you have Perry Ellis. A guy who has been sneaky putting up 15-20 a game and throwing down low impact dunks forever.

Fred VanFleet

I feel like Wichita State has been good for 10 years now and Fred VanFleet has been on every one of those teams. The spunky senior guard with the will to win. He was never a Freshman, Sophomore or Junior. He entered college as a senior and just froze as a senior. Honestly I have no idea if he’s a senior this year or not but I guarantee you he’s a senior next year and the next 5 years.

Ron Baker

Ron Baker is sort of like Fred VanFleet’s evil twin. While VanFleet has been a senior his entire career Ron Baker is in his 8th season as a freshman. And yes these two guys and the rest of the Wichita State team that never graduate or get older is why I bet them at 55-1 to win the tournament. Tough to beat a team with a combined 1,000 years of tourney experience.

Roosevelt Jones

Are we really saying this guy is still at Butler? I mean come on. All the other guys I was kind of joking and writing a witty article, but this is just preposterous. I know for a fact he was on both Butler’s Final Four teams. I know for a fact he played 4 years for Brad Stevens. He looked like he was 45 years old 10 years ago. He plays like he’s an old man at the rec center because he is an old man who probably plays in rec leagues during the off season. There is no way his eligibility didn’t expire 5 years ago. No way.
