Mr. Kraft Crushing Oscars Night

GossipExtra — New England Patriots owner Bob Kraft switched gear this weekend, preferring the bustle of Oscar weekend in Hollywood over his usual Palm Beach hangouts. Kraft, 72, spent most of his time at Elton John‘s traditional viewing party, a fundraiser for the singer of Crocodile Rock‘s AIDS charity. Of course, Kraft brought his granddaughter — sorry, we couldn’t resist! — his leggy girlfriend, 33-year-old c-list actress Ricki Lander (Iron Man, Ugly Betty, Prison Break).

Ridicule Mr. Kraft and Rikki all you want, you snarky little bastards.  But this is how the truly powerful do the Oscars.  They go to the biggest A-list party in Hollywood, the one with Lady Gaga, Ryan Seacrest, Taylor Swift, Quincy Jones and Jane Fonda at it. And they sit at the head table with Sir Elton, Tommy Hilfiger and the boss of Universal Music Group at it.  And of course they go with the beautiful woman they love on their arm.  Haters gonna hate, but when you’re the 7th richest owner in North American sports, you bloody well act like it.  Leave it to lesser men to sit there through the worst Oscars show ever, eating Ellen Degeneres’ pizza and laughing at her terrible jokes.  Real moguls roll like this.  Mr. Kraft dominates the sports world, business, stares down world leaders, settles labor disputes and now he’s the toast of Tinseltown.  And when Alexander saw the breadth of his domain, he wept.  For there were no more worlds left to conquer.  @JerryThornton1
