Mike Florio Says If Belichick Wasn't A Great Head Coach Then He Wouldn't Have A Job As A Head Coach Anymore

(PFT) — If Patriots coach Bill Belichick didn’t have four pelts on the wall, he probably wouldn’t still be an NFL head coach.

He’d be a defensive coordinator, most likely. But not a head coach. He simply doesn’t have the temperament to survive as a head coach if he were anything another than one of the best head coaches in NFL history.

I actually like Florio a lot so this pains me to say, but what the fuck are you talking about, dude? If Bill Belichick hadn’t won four Super Bowls he wouldn’t have a job anymore because he doesn’t entertain media bullshit? Ummm, yeah, probably. If Belichick sucked at coaching then he probably would no longer be a head coach. You know what? I’ll even take it a step further: if Tom Brady wasn’t great at playing quarterback then he probably wouldn’t be a starting quarterback anymore. If Gregg Popovich didn’t win all the time he’d probably lose his spot on the bench. I know this is a crazy hot take but if Belichick hadn’t won those four Super Bowls he might not even be considered the greatest coach in NFL history. Wild, I know, but that’s just what I think.
