KO Barstool Gets 2 Techies Fired For Making A "Forking" Joke Between Themselves...UPDATE - The Feminist Who Narc'd On the Two Dudes Has Also Been Fired When Hackers Attack Her Company

Venture Beat – Playhaven fired a developer after he allegedly made sexual jokes in the audience during a keynote session at PyCon, a conference for Python developers. Now Adria Richards, a developer evangelist for SendGrid, is getting rape and death threats via Twitter. Richards was sitting in the audience immediately in front of two developers. After someone made a comment about forking a software repository, the two allegedly began making jokes about forking in a sexual manner and “big dongles.” After listening for some time, Richards got fed up, took a picture of the two, and posted it to Twitter: One of those two developers is Alex Reid, an engineer at PlayHaven, the mobile gaming monetization and marketing company. The other developer, whose name is not yet known but goes by mr-hank on Hacker News, was fired by PlayHaven for the incident (PlayHaven confirmed this today).

Richards explained her perspective on her blog, But You’re a Girl, saying she took the comments for as long as she could, but when she saw a picture of a little girl onstage, she felt she needed to make a stand for her and all the women who have not considered technology as a career path “because the ass clowns behind me would make it impossible for her to do so.” By the way, Richards has publicly made sexual references in a joking manner herself, just a few days prior to this incident:

I only understood like 6% of this article. Forking is like tech talk for fucking I think? Dongles is tech talk for dicks I guess? So these guys were saying who they’d want to fork with their dongle and this lady who had nothing to do with the conversation posterized them on twitter and got them both fired? Ok that seems rational.

Anyway let’s forget how insane this is for a minute. I just have one question for this feminist nutbag. Do she really think she is making a difference? Like how is tattling on guys for making guy jokes going to help anything? Does she really think she can program guys not to talk like guys? That we won’t make crude jokes with each other? That we won’t talk about who we want to fork? That’s what idiot dykes like these never seem to understand.  Guys have talked like this since the beginning of time.  Guys will talk and act like this till the end of time. That doesn’t mean girls can’t work in tech. That doesn’t mean chicks are dumb.  It’s just guys being guys.  Trying to fight against it is like trying to fight against it getting dark outside tonight.  It just makes you and all feminists look like lunatics.

PS – Something I’ve noticed with feminists is they think it’s okay for them to make sexual innuendo jokes, just not guys.  It’s bizarro world.   I guess they think it’s like black people can make N word jokes?  That’s the only thing I can come up with?

UPDATE – There appears to be justice in the world….

Venturebeat – Email delivery company SendGrid has fired developer evangelist Adria Richards (pictured above) after she outed a developer who was allegedly making sexual jokes during a conference, via Twitter.

The company made a statement on its Facebook account:

Effective immediately, SendGrid has terminated the employment of Adria Richards. While we generally are sensitive and confidential with respect to employee matters, the situation has taken on a public nature. We have taken action that we believe is in the overall best interests of SendGrid, its employees, and our customers. As we continue to process the vast amount of information, we will post something more comprehensive.

SendGrid is under DDOS attack right now, which means that some fairly sophisticated hackers are very focused on the company, and it is not beyond the realm of possibility that they have cracked into SendGrid’s social media accounts. However, SendGrid has also confirmed the firing on Twitter:
