Just To Clarify: The Red Sox Discounted Beer Prices To Thank Fans Is Actually Them Just Selling A Smaller Beer For Basically the Same Relative Price Point

Love it. The One Eyed Bandit just doing the damn thing per usual. Last week the Globe has this big story about how the Red Sox are saying thank you to the fans by offering discounted pricing on concessions highlighted by cheaper beer. The Red Sox basically holding a parade to talk about how genourous and awesome they are. Dr. Creepy blowing the fog horn on his boat. Only problem is the beer isn’t discounted at all. A 16 ounce beer cost 8 bucks. This new 12 ounce beer costs 5. Gee thanks Larry! Nobody better than you!  Thanks for letting us buy more products!  You’re the best!

PS –  According to this article from CNN the Washington Nationals have the most expensive beer in MLB at 8 bucks for a 16 ounce can.

NEW YORK (CNNMoney)It’s opening day for baseball Monday — the start of the season when many fans flock to their favorite stadium. But a day at the ballpark can get pricey, especially if you include the cost of food and drink to get through nine innings.Thirsty fans pay the most at Washington Nationals games, the cheapest beer available is a 16-ounce can for $8. The Boston Red Sox  did not respond to requests for 2013 stadium food prices.

Hey wait a minute.  Don’t the Sox sell a 16 ounce draft for 8 bucks?   Wouldn’t that make the Red Sox have the most expensive beer in baseball right now and not the Nationals?   So what gives?  Why didn’t CNN say we were the most expensive then?  Oh that’s right.  The One eyed bandit didn’t respond to CNN’s request for stadium food pricing.  Thanks again though for the 5 buck 12 ouncer Larry!
